Work Integrated Learning Coordinator, Faculty of Management

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Management the successful candidate will administer the co-op placements and internships. The incumbent will continually build relationships with employers, community partners, teachers, media, etc., and assist in the strategic planning and development of the co-op programs and internship courses with faculty, School Directors and the Dean (market research, marketing, etc.). The incumbent will initiate partnerships and represent the Faculty of Management at various functions.
- Maintain and develop industry relationships and partnerships within the relevant industry
- Find and disseminate internship and job postings to students and alumni;
- Oversee all administrative duties associated with Work Integrated Learning (WIL) within the school;
- Coordinate with various units within Laurentian University (including Risk Management and Health and Safety), ensuring all reporting and paperwork is current;
- Build and maintain a digital CRM platform to manage all relevant stakeholder data;
- Develop and maintain a communications strategy for all stakeholders;
- Lead all duties associated with the Work Integrated Learning courses within the School;
- Work with a designated faculty member to support the Professional Development Workshops;
- Assist the Director and alumni in developing and running the alumni mentorship program;
- Assist the Director in planning and implementing the peer mentorship program;
- Provide support to designated faculty for evaluations of student work associated with work integrated learning;
- Liaise with and support the advisory board in their duties; including fundraising; peer and alumni mentorship programs; curriculum advising; branding, marketing, and communications; and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging;
- Support the advisory Board Chief of Staff intern;
- Manage alumni relations with all graduates of the program and the alumni chapter (including the Northern Ontario group);
- Assist in the planning and execution of events associated with the School;
- Assist in the planning and in executing student recruitment activities, as approved by the director;
- Liaise with current high school partners locally and across Ontario;
- Assist in the planning and execution of all digital communications and social media platforms for internal communications and external recruitment activities; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field considered an asset;
- Three to five years of relevant industry experience, preferably in the sports industry;
- Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software;
- Experience in the use of social media for business purposes;
- Previous teaching and/or mentoring experience considered an asset;
- Previous experience and interest in Work Integrated Learning is an asset;
- Strong communication and leadership skills;
- Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational and time management skills; and
- Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.
The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
