Domestic Recruitment Coordinator- Graduate Studies, Domestic Recruitment

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Domestic Recruitment, the Domestic Recruitment Coordinator – Graduate Studies will be primarily responsible in furthering the University’s goal of recruiting graduate studies students to Masters and PhD programs and increasing overall graduate studies enrollment. The incumbent will organize recruitment campaigns, both internally and externally to the university, and participate in external graduate studies fairs and conferences. In collaboration with the Offices of Graduate Studies as well as International Recruitment, the incumbent will also participate in select international agent meetings and promote new funding opportunities through their established networks. 

The successful candidate will 

  • Attend National and International research-related conferences to promote Laurentian University graduate programs;
  • Leverage our undergraduate programming and students for internal campaigns encouraging continuation of studies within graduate studies;
  • Monitor ongoing campaigns to ensure return on investment is met;
  • Assist in the development of physical and digital material targeting graduate studies as a whole, as well as for unique programs for both domestic and international students;
  • Creation of internal and local campaigns and presentation schedules to ensure current Laurentian students have an effective applicant journey;
  • Create and assist in the monitoring of a contact card system for Faculty to showcase their research efforts, as well as our Canada Research Chair seats;
  • Working with Canada Research Chairs, program coordinators, and program supervisors, identify unique opportunities for program and research promotion;
  • With the Office of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Studies Council, identify research programs with capacity for students, and develop metrics with which programs can track the available seats for new graduate students;
  • Assist in identifying direct entry graduate studies options for internal Laurentian University students and prospective undergraduate students;
  • Work with the Dean of Graduate Studies and International, to develop training tools for Faculty members to promote their areas of research through digital and physical material;
  • Maintain internal database of program requirements, including admissions criteria, scholarship opportunities and areas of research to showcase graduate programs to prospective students;
  • Conduct routine ‘check-in’s and follow-up with active applicants on missing documentation;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all Graduate Studies prospective students;
  • Suggest alternate pathways to graduate studies programming for students who are below or missing specific requirements; 
  •  Plan and coordinate a yearly national campaign for the recruitment of graduate studies students in collaboration with International Recruitment and the Office of Graduate Studies;
  • Assist in the review of language used in the graduate student journey map to ensure a smooth transition from step-to-step;
  •  Maintain the database of Faculty members’ appointments and research areas to ensure successful promotion of research areas at Laurentian University; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree four (4) years, in Communication Studies, Marketing, or Business Administration or a related discipline with a Master’s Degree (in progress or completed);
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience;
  • Highly developed skills in oral and written communication, including effective presentation skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and with deadline constraints while balancing competing priorities;
  • Excellent customer service management skills;
  • Proficiency with Google Suite,Zoom Workforce, and Microsoft Office Products; 
  • Knowledge of Ellucian, Datatel and Business Objects, or similar systems is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM);
  • Knowledge of Graduate Studies funding models and scholarships; 
  • Valid G-class driver’s license; 
  • Valid Passport; and
  • Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.

 

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
