Laurentian’s Science Preparation and Academic Transition summer courses are ideally suited for you to start earning credits early, build your skills and gain confidence in your academic journey!

Week 1

Morning Class (3 cr)

August 10-14

Understanding, Learning, and Inquiry - ACEX 1006-01

9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

 

Afternoon Guided Skills Building (Optional)

Optional sessions include D2L Skills, Orientation for Learning Online, Time Management, Research Skills, Academic Integrity & Writing Skills.

 

Weekend

August 15-16

Use the weekend to catch up on your assignments.  Review your Fall Schedule. 
The countdown to September is on!

Week 2

Morning Class (3 cr)

August 17-21

Understanding, Learning, and Inquiry - ACEX 1006-01

9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

 

Afternoon Guided Skills Building (Optional)

Optional sessions include Building Resilience, Developing Resourcefulness, Virtual Campus Tour, Inquiring Mind 
Part 1 and 2, and Open Chat & Reflection.

 

Weekend

August 22-23

Orientation Weeks begins! Check the Orientation schedule at laurentian.ca/orientation

Additional Details

The ACEX 1006-01 course count as 3-credits toward your degree. Visit our Fees website for your degree tuition information. 

These courses count as part of your Fall course load and are OSAP and scholarship eligible.

Note: the ACEX 1006-01 course does not count for credit in the Engineering or Education programs.

Chemistry Prep

CHMI 1041EL Chemical Concepts (3 Credits)

Recorded lectures, Labs Monday 6-7:30pm, and Zoom question periods on Wednesdays 7-10pm

 

Math Prep

MATH 1912EL Elementary Calculus (3 Credits)

Tuesday-Thursdays 6-9pm

Students are eligible to apply for part-time OSAP funding.

Note: these course does not count for credit in the Education or Engineering programs. To register, complete Science Prep Registration Form or email orientation@laurentian.ca.
