Mentorship/Job Shadow Program

Laurentian Alumni Mentorship Program

The Laurentian Alumni Mentorship Program seeks to connect students who demonstrate strong academic and leadership skills with alumni mentors. A student is paired with a mentor who has graduated from the same program and who is working in a related field. The goal is to offer the student guidance that will allow them to make the most of their time at Laurentian and help them prepare for their careers. The program’s duration is from September to April (one academic year). The student is required to contact their mentor a minimum of three times throughout the course of the program. Contact can be made via e-mail, telephone, skype or in person.

Laurentian Job Shadow Program

The Job Shadow program offers students the opportunity to engage with professionals in informal, but meaningful ways and provides them with a “sneak peek” into the work world. Students will be matched with an employer in a field of work that is of interest to them. The duration (half day or full day) and structure of the job shadow is left to the discretion of the employer. Once we have paired the student with the employer, the two parties can decide on a date.
