We offer campus tours from Monday-Friday at 10:00 am and at 1:30 pm, as well as on Saturdays at 12:00pm (noon). To register for a campus tour, please consult the following link:

All campus tours must be reserved at least one week in advance in order to allow time to contact a tour guide and setup any relevant meetings.

Please note that tours consist of a 1.5 hour walking tour of the campus and includes visits to a
library, classrooms, dining locations, the residence complex, and athletic facilities. All campus
tours include outdoor walking therefore please wear comfortable footwear and dress for the weather.

Laurentian University offers admission to most of it's programs if an applicant meets all criteria and has at least a 70% overall average in their 6 best U/M courses. Consult laurentian.ca/admissions to learn how you should apply.

At Laurentian University all applicants are reviewed for direct scholarships based on academic merit and financial need.

Depending on the program and duration of study, most require at least 90 credits (3 year) and 120 credits (4 year) for completion.

Once you've accepted your offer, you will be contacted directly when course registration is open for the upcoming semester. This is done 3 times per year for our Fall, Winter, and Spring intakes.

In Ontario, Laurentian University is a leading institution in credit transferability. Applicants who have previous postsecondary studies can receive transfer credits. In order to be eligible for transfer credits, you must either hold a completed 2 or 3 year diploma from a recognized college, have partial studies at a university with at least one completed course, or hold a complete university degree.

Incomplete college diplomas, one year certificates or post-graduate diplomas / certificates are not eligible for transfer credits.

Transfer credits will not be evaluated prior to an application being made, and official transcripts being received.

If you are applying to either full or part time studies and have completed previous post-secondary education (college or university) those transcripts MUST be sent directly to our admissions office at the time of application. Transcripts must come in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution or come directly from the post-secondary institution. We do not accept photocopies or faxed transcripts. To apply to residence, you will find the application information on your myLaurentian Applicant Portal.
Applicants can apply for residence before they receive an offer! At Laurentian University, first-year high school applicants are guaranteed a spot in a residence when they apply to University College or Single Student Residences before June 1, 2020.

A conditional offer is an offer applicants may receive if not all the criteria for admissions have yet been met. The applicant must fulfill the conditions in order to receive a final decision.
For example, all Ontario high school applicants will receive a conditional offer. The final decision will depend upon their best six grade 12 U or M courses, successful completion of the required courses and the obtention of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

High school applicants may also receive an Early Conditional Offer of Admission in the Fall, based on their grade 11 average.

Any applicant may receive an Alternate Offer from our Office of Admissions. Take the time to review the offer and learn more about the suggested program(s) by consulting our website or speaking with one of our Liaison staff. Should you wish to be considered for an alternate open-enrolment program offered at Laurentian, please contact the Office of Admissions at info@laurentian.ca.

If you applied to more than one program at Laurentian University, your decision letter will clearly indicate the decision for each program.
Your Offer of Admission will be posted in the Documents folder on your Applicant Portal. Carefully review the details and conditions of your offer. To accept your offer, visit ouac.on.ca, log into your account, and follow the instructions to accept. OUAC will send your response to our Office of Admissions.
If you did not apply on the OUAC, you will accept your offer through your Applicant Portal.
 

Laurentian University does not defer admissions at the undergraduate level.

The Centre of Academic Excellence (CAE) offers a variety of academic supports to help students transition to university and succeed during their studies. The academic advisors are available to meet with students to advise on a variety of topics such as course selection, registration and interpreting university regulations.

Yes. The Office of Admissions must receive official transcripts from previous institutions you attended (i.e. high school, college, university) to ensure you meet the prerequisites of the program. Without your grades, the Office of Admissions cannot make a decision.

If you apply as an Ontario high school student, your grades are sent directly from your school to the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC) and then directly to Laurentian University.

All other applicants must request transcripts to be sent to Laurentian University from their previous institutions. If you apply through the OUAC, there will be a section in the application process where you can request transcripts - if they are from an Ontario high school, college or university.

If your institution is outside of Ontario, official transcripts must be sent by the institution to the following address:

Ontario high school applicants must be enrolled in a sufficient number of courses to ensure they have successfully completed at least six (6) Grade 12 4U/M courses by the end of June and will qualify to obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). They must equally have an overall average that is equal to or higher than the program average requirement. For more information: https://laurentian.ca/admissions/undergraduate/ontario-high-school

Out of province applicants require the successful completion of a secondary school diploma with the equivalent course requirements as Ontario applicants listed in the Grade 12 course equivalencies by the Province section: https://laurentian.ca/admissions/undergraduate/out-of-province
Applicants from the Province of Québec require a minimum of one full year of the Collège d’enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEP) program. Those who have completed more than one year of a CEGEP program will be considered for admission with advanced standing.

Applicants from other provinces or territories require a completed Grade 12 with a minimum 70% average.

Applicants coming from college must complete a minimum of one year of college studies and be in good academic standing with an overall average of 65% to be considered for admission.

Those who have completed a 2 or 3 year college diploma can receive transfer credits. Details on credits transferability: https://laurentian.ca/admissions/undergraduate/college-transfer-applicants

Applicants who have completed some university studies may be eligible for admission to programs offered at Laurentian University. Transfer credits may be awarded based on prior studies, but cannot be determined until you apply for admission and submit official transcripts.
