The School of Northern and Community Studies aims to foster the well-being of land and communities
with a focus on Northern Ontario.
We acknowledge that the school is located on Anishinaabe Territory and through our work we aim to build
respectful long-lasting relationships in Indigenous Territories.
Our programs are designed to:
- encourage students to become critical and creative thinkers and doers;
integrate Indigenous-based methodologies and partnerships in our classrooms;
promote social, environmental, cultural and economic sustainability;
transcend disciplinary boundaries.
Within the School of Northern and Community Studies, we offer courses from Anthropology, Labour Studies,
Geography & Economics.
