Canadian Federalism and Constitutional Law

This course examines the impact of judicial decisions on the development of Canadian federalism and on the constitution, with a focus on the elements that relate to the federal-provincial relationship. Decisions of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council and the Supreme Court of Canada are discussed, as is the increasing importance of judicial review in Canadian politics. PREREQ: POLI 2706 or equivalent and 24 POLI and/or JURI credits or permission of the instructor. (sem 3) cr 3.
