Nationalism

This course examines the origins of nationalism and its role in contemporary society. The course pays particular attention to the relationship between nationalism and collective identities, culture, political violence, and democracy. PREREQ: 6 credits of POLI at the 1000 level or SOCI 1015 or permission of the department. (lec 3) cr 3. Crosslisted with SOCI 3216. Students may not retain credit for both POLI 3216 and SOCI 3216.
