Phenomenology

This course examines the main texts of the phenomenological movement, which involved fundamentally rethinking the nature of consciousness, embodiment, and the relationship between consciouness and the world. Husserl, Heidegger, Sartre, and Merleau-Ponty are among the authors considered. Fundamental notions such as intentionality, constitution, ontology, existence, epoche, reduction, and perception are examined. PREREQ: Minimum of 18 University credits. (lec 3) cr 3.
