Environmental Risk Management

This course investigates the steps in policy, engineering, public education, and ecosystem modification needed to eliminate or ameliorate various perceived environmental threats. Topics include the goals, scope, and effectiveness of different types of risk management and abatement strategies, including examples taken from the Sudbury area. PREREQ: minimum 15 ENVI/ENSC credits or either BIOL 2356 or ENSC 2707, and 3 credits of statistics, or permission of the instructor. (lec 3) cr 3.
