Culture, Media and Childhood

This course examines ways in which culture, media, and childhood intersect. From toys to social media, fairy tales to videogames, the course uses an interdisciplinary approach to examine how media representations and cultural artifacts reflect and reproduce dominant (and sometimes conflicting) ideologies, traditions, and social values to children. PREREQUISIT: 18 university credits (Lec 3, 3cr)
