Development and Canadian Indigenous Community Organization

This course examines how Canadian Indigenous peoples use various forms of community organization to deal with bureaucracy and bureaucrats. Case studies illustrate grass-roots development in the face of overt and covert bureaucratic resistance and how indigenous community organization can exert local control over development. Prerequisites: Students must have at least 24 university credits. (lec 3) cr 3.
