Anthropology and the World Today

This course focuses on the contemporary relevance of anthropology in the world today with an examination of approaches to a cultural understanding of communication, sexuality, gender, health, globalization, class, ethnicity, conflict, migration and applied anthropology. Particular emphasis is placed on a critical anthropological analysis of current events. Prereq.: Minimum 18 University credits or permission of the instructor. (lec 3) 3 cr.
