Archives & Special Collections

Located on the first floor of the library, "the Archives" houses seven special collections of publications and the holdings of the institutional fonds and of organizations and individuals from the Northern Ontario community.


    The Angus Gilbert Reading Room can accommodate forty (40) researchers.

If your inquiry pertains to the opening hours of the special collections, ( Regional, Faculty, Rare Books, Essays and Thesis), they are accessible on Monday, between 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday. No appointment is necessary.

Please be advised that an appointment is required prior to your visit to the Archives for all search requests concerning archival fonds. Access to and reference for archival materials will be offered only on Mondays and Fridays. All the collections that are located in the archives are accessible to everyone. All materials must be consulted within the archives reading room and cannot be taken out.

Note that appointments may only be scheduled on Mondays and Fridays.
