Chemical engineers apply economics, chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics to the design and operation of processes and systems.
Laurentian graduates can actively apply their knowledge to a very wide range of situations, including: process plant design and operation, synthesis of alternative fuels, energy conservation and conversion; optimization and control, and environmental remediation and conservation.
They are also at the front of exciting fundamental studies in areas such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, electrochemical technology, green chemistry and sustainable development.
Our Chemical Engineering Program of Study includes options in :
- Environmental Sustainability and
- Extractive Metallurgy
4-Year Chemical Program (including "Extractive Metallurgy" and "Environmental Sustainability" options) 2011-2012
**It is strongly recommended that all Engineering students have their own computer**

Many first year students enroll for general Engineering without specifying either
Chemical, Mechanical, Mining or Civil.
Due to increased enrollments in our programs and limited classroom capacities,
students must remember to officially declare their discipline to Registrar by email (registrar@laurentian.ca) in 1st or 2nd year.
Please include your name and Student ID when confirming your discipline.
